The European Community

I include this, not because it is specifically Christian, but so that you can see this one aspect of what is happening.

Thirty years ago we, in Britain, were asked if we wanted to join ‘The Common Market’.

It seemed a good idea, to increase trade with our near neighbours. A Referendum was held and most of us wanted to join.

But as soon as we joined ‘The Common Market’, it ceased to be called ‘The Common Market’ and started to be called ‘The European Community’.

There was a European Parliament, and people came back from this Parliament was stories that it was going to replace the British Parliament. European money would replace our own money, a European President would replace our own monarchy and a European army would replace our own army. This was NOT what the British people had voted for. If we had known that it would involve that we would not have joined ‘The Common Market’.

John Major came back with the ‘Mastrich Treaty’, which, if approved, would start the transference of power to the European Parliament. We all thought that we would be allowed to approve or reject it in a referendum, but as soon as John Major realised that we would not approve it, he rejected democracy, and signed it himself, without our approval. The reason he did so, was that if we did not approve it we would still have to obey the laws of the European Parliament but .have little say in forming those laws.

Tony Blair has come back with another law…..The changeover to ‘European Money’, even though there is little confidence in industry, in European Money. We asked him if there would be a referendum, and he said that there would be, but he added….even if you reject European Money you are going to get it anyway.

Th politicians have said that The European Community could become the United States of Europe, but it looks as if it is going to be the USSR of Europe, unless the politicians, many of whom are being seduced by the power and glamour of the Parliament in Brussels, start to listen to the people, and do what they want. It is amazing that the people in Eastern Europe are breaking up their empire, because it did not serve the people, and the people in Western Europe are setting one up, giving the Germans control of the money, when only sixty years ago they were on the verge of bankruptcy.

Very few people vote in Britain in a European Election because they think the politicians will do what the politician want to do, regardless of the people. Also, the power of a person’s vote has been reduced from 1 in 40 million to 1 in 500 million.
